Wireless Internet connectivity is available at all of our branch libraries. Access is free and available 24 hours a day.
Using wireless hotspots at AVRL locations
Users are responsible for acquainting themselves with and adhering to the Computer and Internet Access Policy.
Security. The wireless connection is not secure. No encryption is employed. This means that it is possible for your transmissions to be intercepted. Conducting financial transactions over this connection is not advised.
Safety. The Internet can be a hostile environment, therefore users are strongly advised to employ appropriate protection, including a firewall and up-to-date antivirus and anti-spyware software. The library is not responsible for any damage your equipment may suffer while using this connection.
Settings. Some configuration of your equipment may be necessary to use a library’s wireless connection. Configuring your device is your own responsibility, not the library’s. (After all, it is your device.) If you do change any settings, don’t forget to restore them after you’ve finished.
Printing. Unfortunately we are not able to provide printing service to patrons using our wireless network. Ask our staff about using our public access computers to print your documents..
Sound. When using your device within the library, please use headphones or mute the sound.
In order to protect its network and users, the Library reserves the right to terminate a connection at any time or to withdraw wireless access entirely.
