VANS Artist in Residence

In partnership with Visual Arts Nova Scotia (VANS), we are thrilled to announce that Mallory Gorman will be the Kentville Library’s Artist in Residence from April 1-30, 2023.

During the residency the artist will create original work as well as host programming for community members, including hands-on painting workshops for various age groups, open studio hours, and a final group exhibition.

April 11, 5:30-7:30pm

Intro to Watercolour, Part I (Ages 14+)

A two-part workshop. Participants may include their work in the group exhibition.

April 13, 6:30-8:00pm

Artist Meet-and-Greet

An introduction to Mallory Gorman, her work, and her plans during her residency.

April 15, 10:30-11:30am

Group Mural Painting (Ages 5-7)

Dots, splotches, and splatters mix together to become a beautiful field of flowers.

April 15, 12:30-1:30pm

Group Mural Painting (Ages 8-11)

Create a lively abstract waterway filled with wondrous marine creatures.

April 18, 5:30-7:30pm

Intro to Watercolour, Part II (Ages 14+)

April 20, 3:30-4:30pm

Painting with Music (Ages 6-11)

Find focus as you let music guide your scribbles, splashes, and bursts of colour.

April 20, 6:00-7:00pm

Painting with Music (Ages 12+)

April 27, 4:00-8:00pm

Exhibition Opening

Drop in to view work completed during the residency. Refreshments will be served.
