I recently did a quick tour of the AVRL libraries, and I liked what I saw. I’ve been to all of our libraries, many times, but the last 2 years have seen some pretty big changes and challenges. I’m here to tell you that our libraries are thriving, getting back to some kind of normal, and most importantly, meeting the needs of our community. Our valiant branch staff are getting ready for the Summer Reading Challenge, and at the same time, easing in to the new Same Page catalogue. We’ve seen a huge wave of books coming in from around Nova Scotia which proves that we have some really keen readers. If you haven’t gotten your new Same Page card, come see us and find out what all the hoopla is about!
Branches are starting in-person programs again, and there’s quite a slate of entertainment happening this summer. Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and log your reading — it is for all ages, and there are fun prizes to be won. We’ve been giving away seeds galore, so the Valley should be hopping with home gardens. We are working on Take & Make art kits, & Tech Programs for all ages, including One-on-One tutorials.
Stop by your local library. Stop in at any (or all) of our libraries. Visit us online or in person. We are here for you. And we are looking good!
