The AVRL Seed Library is back for 2024!
Gardening is known to have substantial health benefits in terms of physical activity and mental well being. It’s also a great family project that can lead to healthy food choices and sustainable communities. On top of all that, it’s just plain fun!
The AVRL Seed Library began in 2016 with donations of seeds from local growers at the Lawrencetown branch. Since then, it has expanded to all eleven AVRL locations. Anyone is welcome to drop by their local library and choose from the seeds available, free of charge. This year, seeds have been generously provided by NSCC’s Horticulture and Landscape Technology Program. Supplies are limited, so to ensure there’s enough for everyone, please take only one package per variety, per household.
Visit your local AVRL branch beginning early April and pick up some free seeds.
Let’s get this garden started!
