Super Summer Events at Your Library!

We’re getting geared up for an action-packed summer featuring some very special guests. Check out what’s happening below and be sure to sign up for your favourites.



Combine a whole lot of fun with science education and animal awareness! This summer, Ambre will be visiting our libraries and bringing along some special guests including spiders, scorpions, a crested gecko, bearded dragon, snakes, and more!

Let’s Get Chemical (Grades 3-6)

In this class students will get to participate in a series of hands-on reactions and learn the indicators of physical versus chemical changes.
Berwick: June 30, 1:30pm-2:30pm
Bridgetown: June 30, 4:00pm-5:00pm

Light & Sound (Grades 3-6)

It’s all about waves! Compare the properties of visible light to the properties of other types of electromagnetic radiation, explore the relationship between frequency and colour (in light) and frequency and pitch (in sound), and “see” the vibrations made by your own voice.

Invisible Forces (Grades 3-6)
Charge up on static electricity! Conduct hair-raising experiments and explore the characteristics of magnets. At the end, we’ll have a tug-of-war using the super power of electromagnetism.

Mad Machines (Grades 3-6)

Let us catapult you to scientific discovery! Explore the world of simple machines in this hands-on workshop. Levers, pulleys, inclined planes, wedges, screws, wheels and axles will help us get our “work” done fast.
Wolfville: Thursday, August 24, 1:00-2:00pm
Hantsport: Thursday, August 24 3:00-4:00pm


Bring the whole family for a fun musical adventure with Matt the Music Man! It’s an educational, interactive performance that will keep the kids singing and dancing.

In partnership with our friends at Oaklawn Farm Zoo, anyone under 18 with a library card will get into the Zoo for free on July 11 and August 15. Look for the Big Library Tent near the zoo entrance for extra fun crafts and activities, music, story times, the prize wheel, and more! Don’t have a library card? It’s free and easy to sign up for one at your local branch. You can also apply for a card online and we’ll mail it to you.
