Responsible, ethical use of the Internet includes:

  1. Using the Internet for educational, informational and recreational purposes only; not for unauthorized, illegal or unethical purposes.
  2. Not attempting to modify or gain unauthorized access to files, passwords, or data belonging to others; not seeking unauthorized access to any computer system; or damaging or altering software components of any network or database.
  3. Not sending, receiving or displaying text or graphics which may reasonably be construed as obscene.
  4. The Annapolis Valley Regional Library, in providing use of the Access Site to the Internet (Public Access Site), is providing a privilege, not a right. The Internet user is responsible for his/her actions and activity. Unacceptable use, as deemed by library staff, may result in revocation of the privilege.
